Found a Green winged teal

While was surveying an impoundment at a wildlife area my work manages we found this little guy! Half of his wing was shot off (missing its metacarpals) by a hunter. This green winged teal was lucky because he found a safe area to remain safe while it recovered. Since it can't fly I took it to the wild bird clinic I used to work at and the teal is going to live safe in captivity

Awww poor little guy. Bleh hunters! Not a fan of the sport hunting, it makes no sense to senselessly kill something to hang it on the wall but to each their own. Glad to hear the little guy is going the be care for
