A (un)Cape has been my dream bird for years. I've been a devoted donator to their preservation and have waited for the opportunity to breed the brown-neckeds. Unfortunately, finding pairs are difficult, so this year I was able to get half of my future breeding pair..

Tom!

Tom is 6 months old and came from an East Coast aviary. He's a bit scrawny and a lot nervous still. He'll step up but honestly, he's already old enough to consider his past home 'home'. He's still mourning. Still in the "Don't touch me, I don't trust you!" phase.

We're working on it slowly and gently. I'm tenacious and will win him over! He's still in Quarantine (yes, I have cranberry colored walls in several rooms *laughs*), so maybe once he's able to be with/near other birds, he'll come out of his shell more.

Here is Tom!

I'd love to chat with other (un)Cape owners out there!

And of course, I cannot forget my Kgosi bird!

He's my lesser Jardines. He's a fellow I raised from chickhood and try as I might to sell him, I kept pulling him from the list. I ended up keeping him because he's so darn awesome!

wow, capes and RFMs are on my dreaming list and you have both of them!
I will be very interested to learn more about both from you.
Tom and Kgosi look like birds that nothing will get past them.

A female Cape (or Un-cape or whatever they'll be called by the time I can have one) is definitively on my dream list.

Tom looks great :)
