Finding safe LUMBER

Hello there

I’m in the process of building a tree stand for my cockatiel and I was wondering what woods (if any) are safe in a “plank” form.

I’m planning on using with a large dowel rod or a plank of some wood from the hardware store but I’m not sure what kind to use.

Avoid cedar, redwood, and pressure-treated lumber. Untreated pine and fir should be fine.
