Finch egg questions

I have a question about finch eggs. I was told that if a male and female finch breed and lay eggs you can boil the eggs and place them back in the cage until the finches get tired of them. I do have concerns though? 1. Do the eggs have a heart beat on day 1 of being laid? 2. Does this distress the parents in a substantial way, is it the same with chickens? Or do the parents really just not get distressed about it?

Fertilized eggs have no heartbeat until they have been incubated.

Shez is correct, they have to be incubated to develop. I believe around day 5 is when they get a heartbeat.

Most birds tolerate this just fine. You could also get dummy eggs to swap out so they have them immediately back, but they only need to be boiled for a few minutes, so either way its a pretty short time span.
