Feet biting during preening

So I take my bird to the shower, and that’s his designated preening time before he gets wet. So he does the usual wing, tail and forehead preening, then he picks up his foot and preens it. After a minute of foot preen, he will scratch his “beard” with his foot like a detective. He repeats the preening cycle, getting other areas but going back to the foot once in a while. Is he ok?

Some websites I checked out said that feet preening meant illness and immediately rushing to the vet. It got me nervous :wideyed:
