Feather loss

I've had my Bobo home for a week now and am wondering about feather loss. I don't want to be paranoid, but he's dropped a couple of feathers in the last day and seems to be losing more down. What's the typical amount of feathers to lose in a week for a Jardines?

Depends on the time of year, diet etc! Some times a few feathers a week, sometimes what like like 500

Does he have broken feather shafts? Bald patches? Do shed feathers have blood in the shaft, or pieces of skin on the end? Those are much more indicative of feather destructive behaviors than simple feather quantity.

None of the above. I had no idea what to look for regarding feather destruction, just being hypervigilant about my bird's wellness. I expected him to be reserved adjusting to a new home. He's very cuddly but seems disinterested in his toys, so I was trying to figure out if he's happy. I was thinking of your bird who chews a lot and worried because he isn't doing that.

My bird is one bird ;) He didn't chew stuff at first either! He wouldn't chew anything that was hanging; it had to be bolted on or laying down on the floor of his cage or on the cage top. And also he started off with balsa and cardboard. It took him a while to "graduate" to thicker and harder stuff! Even now he rarely chews hanging toys. If it moves too much he isn't interested.

bird bird 's not a chewer either but nutu will chew shizz out of anything, blueby and newbie were chewers ,rip, they were great birds, when blueby was young paired with little beauty there were hatchlings first and last for that I hope, heartbreaking.CHERRY B was bird bird's predecessor.Cherry was a rescue bird to agressive toward other birds they were going to put her down or worse so we took her.We cared for her for years eventually she could not fly any more but she would glide to the floor and climb to visit me at my computer desk and come to me for millet snacks,I loved that bird so much I knew her time was coming so I did everything I could to keep her happy and comfortable, she died in my hand, that was a sad day.So we went and got bird bird never have I had a bird that was more like a puppy she plays games and chirps happily and understands some commands and wants to be with me all the time she amazes eveyone that meets her as I write this she is sitting in my left palm we were out all day so she just has to be with me.
