I agree with a Flicker. I have found many flicker wing feathers in my yard. Could be a gilded flicker but their not in your area, so a northern yellow shafted

(yellow shafted northern flicker) They're at least in that area May to June. I can't say how common they are in Ontario, they may be there longer than that. I would guess you still have quite a few even though they will probably migrate soon. The gilded flicker is in the southwest US and mexico
