I'm trying to teach my birds more tricks but I've seemed to run out of ideas. What's your favorite trick you've taught your birds and why? Bonus points for vids/pics lol!

I wish cockatiels had such strong toes! This is what makes treating them to hard, they don't hold the treat they just drop it then look forlornly at the floor.

Secret can turn in a circle and can wave.

He best trick was one she learned on her own though. MC (who passed away from cancer) used to do a "dead chicken" where he hung from his beak at the top of the cage without moving a muscle. MC was a ham and LOVED the attention he got when he did this. Secret? She was ignored until the day when I looked over at her cage and she TURNED HER HEAD UPSIDE DOWN! Really, it was hilarious! To this day she does it very rarely but man, if you see her and say "upside down bird" she just seems to love the attention.

By the way, I don't know her age but she's an old bird because I have a picture of her from 1978.

My buddy, MC

From a previous post here....

He does a trick that was called "the dead chicken" where he hangs from the top of the cage by his beak. If you don't praise him quickly he starts fluttering his wings . . . . still no praise? He starts TRYING TO TALK! It scares the stuffins out of me but I can't get him to quit it.

plums favourate trick is big wings! she opens her mouth and leans forward doing it so it makes her look like shes really mad, her newest trick is wave. shes a quiet bird and instead of calling for attention she just silently does big wings really enthusiastically and hopes i happen to look her way. currently she can touch target, spin, wave, kiss, big wings and im slowly trying to get her to pick things up and put them in my hand to teach her fetch! she can pick it up but dosnt understand to put it in my hand yet. i also got a little prop shopping cart i want to eventually teach her to push or put things in :-] shes very smart!
