...
Birdiemarie, the biggest species I breed gets to about 3.5" in length....
Oh my, that's big. I would like to see a pic of one in the hand to really appreciate the size. Do any of the ones you have bite and/or are poisonous? One more question if it's ok...how many babies do the mom's have at once?

See, Some of those dont even look like roaches. Very interesting.
Can you make good money on them?

That's because you live in FL:lol: At least these ones aren't as ugly as a palmetto bug!

A picture for size reference eh...?

Muahaha. ;)

That being said, no, I don't handle them often. The key to a healthy roach colony is leaving it the heck alone aside from feeding it and keeping the humidity sufficient. This was more a "for funsies" shot. Ironically I met my current boyfriend of a year specifically because of this photo!

To answer other questions:
- I've been keeping roaches since I was a child but have only beed breeding them for a few years
- Yes, you can indeed make money off of them, and depending on what you breed, fairly good money. I am doing this more as a hobby but might get serious about it one day.
- Anything with a mouth can bite ;) But none can inflict any serious damage. And while it's possible some species are toxic if consumed, none of mine (indeed none in general) are say, venemous, which I think is what you are asking?
- Number of offspring varies from species to species. Some have very few babies, some have close to 100. Average is probably 20-50 for most species, certainly the ones I keep. Some lay egg cases, others are oviviparous (false viviparity) so it LOOKS like they give live birth. Kinda nifty.

I just started my first dubia roach colony. I have to admit I was very hesitant to start with but they are actually really fascinating little critters and alot healthier food for the herps. Yours are all just stunning!

I have not read all posts.
Have your birds eaten any of your feeder roaches?
