We got a delivery of a bottle of something (;)) and it came in this interesting packaging... Obviously the packaging went straight into Leia's cage! It would even make a good foraging toy if I hid food in the honeycombed cardboard.

It's labelled with flexi-hex if anyone wants to try this out.

That´s cool packaging!!
I also got a nice thing as packaging recently, though not as interesting as yours, and put it straight in the toy box :lol:

PS, we need to see Leia playing with it :D :angel1:

Nice @Zara, what did you get? Leia's current project is destroying a carboard box. At least it's cheap to entertain her.

I've just poked some treats that Leia is obsessed with (carrot cake oven fresh bites - they're actually pretty tasty) into the honeycombed bits and she's already gone over to investigate.

@Zara @tka

I also got one of those and a strange looking honeycomb type cardbox thing. Just haven’t figured out what to put in it that won’t just fall out. Any ideas? Thanks

who knew that when we order something for us we also get a free bonus toy surprise!! :roflmao:

@Birdie Mama

How about drizzling on some sort of fruit puree or similar? Maybe honey in small quantities? You could even use it to stick on treats like nuts or banana chips

@Birdie Mama I broke a large bird treat into three and stuffed those into the holes.

@Zara whenever I try to get a photo, Leia notices and comes over to say hello (alternatively, to see if I have any food or to lick the phone case)

I'm not sure exactly what you meant. But I don't recommend putting any liquid food in anything soakable. Don't want the bird to think the cardboard is fruit-flavored and eat it. In my experience it is not wise to put any fresh foods in carboard/paper or anything like that. We don't want a bird to injest non-edible things. Instead, use dry treats like seeds, nuts, pellets, dried fruit, etc.

@Birdie Mama if this is for your lovebird, tuck some millet and sunflower seeds in the gaps. Smash an almond and tuck small pieces in too :)

I agree

Just gonna make some tunnels... Though... I don't know that is a good idea with some of my birds. Lapis is brooding an egg in her seed bowl... Adelie laid 2 last week but stopped sitting on the after 2 days.
Gisli will love this!! And Aldora!!

I wonder if there's a bird-safe way to attach paper or card to it... if you can, I'd be inclined to chop it into small sections, attach a paper or card base to each section and then you have little foraging bowls. Punch a hole for some paper rope and you can hang them up.
