Shuffle your feet and make noise to let them know your coming if your in the chosen walking areas. I punted Nerd a few times then he learned to make traveling music and we double checked his favorite spots and shuffled our feet so we wouldn't directly step on him. He would just stand there behind us thinking we'd never step on him he trusted us so much. He learned quickly after the first time it happened.

I suggest wearing flip-flops in the house.

They naturally tend to make you shuffle rather than stride. This is valuable to me as at any time I will have one, two or half a dozen birds running around from room to room. They none of them seem to have any fear of feet whatsoever.

I understand the worry too. The caiques are on the floor a lot too. Alfira I specifically make walk the floor if she is excited to go somewhere as she will vigoursly flap and try to jump if I carry her. With her it is a bit like deciding between 2 evils, risk falling or trampling. It is cute but I am a shuffler too because of that:laugh: My bf thought it was a litte exageratted but I drilled it in him, so risky if you ever loose track of where they are

Yep, almost stepped on Patches a handful of times, he also isn't scared of chairs so we always have to be careful when rolling around in our office chairs. For me it's a little easier because I only have to keep track of one bird, basically before I make any movement I always check to see where he is. He likes to sit on my office chairs headrest a lot when I'm working so I even had to subconciously learn to turn around before leaning my head back!
