PPPLEASE HELP - how the Edge mutation work?
1) I have read there's a SF Edged called "Marbled".
2) Also conflicting quotes . Is Edged mutation a Dominant?
3) Is it A sex link? A visual DF Edged hen will have male SF Edged offspring. A visual male Edged will have both male & female SF Edged.
Is any, all, or none correct?
Thank you for any input...

Marbled is Edged dilute.
It is a recessive mutation.
No, it is not sex linked.

Both parents must have the mutation for the offspring to have it. If both parents are split to edged dilute, they will not show the mutation, but the offspring will be a mix of visual, split and without the mutation. You won't know which of the offspring are split to the mutation and which don't carry it at all until they go on to breed and you can observe their young.

1) "Marbled" is the new name for Edged Dilute. (Peachfaced Lovebirds)
2) "Marbled" (Peachfaced Lovebirds) is Recessive. Dominant Edged (Eyering Lovebirds) is Incomplete Autosomal Dominant. Babies must receive a Factor from Each parent to show the complete mutation.
3) Dominant Edged is Incomplete Autosomal Dominant. Sex has no factor in how the mutation inherits. A DF Dominant Edged hen paired with a male NO Dominant Edged factors will produce all SF Dominant Edged babies.

You need to know that edged is the eyering species. while marbled is for roseicollis species.

Edged is incomplete dominant. You only need one edged factor in the parent, male or female. Just the same can give edged chicks.

Whereas what you mean by sex-linked is greywing. Some have the same appearance as the edge. The difference lies only in the color of the flight.

I just found this!
Thank you so much for clearing this up. I'm catching up with the new terms...
I've just always referred to to Olive and Mauve as double dark green and double dark blue...
White face dfWF and sea green sfWF. I was told the "true blue" doesn't really exist and that it does!
What are your thoughts about this?

This baby came from a pair not exhibiting any marbled trait...
How did that happen? Doe this mean each parent is a split or can it be a grey wing? Is there another name for "Grey Wing"?

Blue only exists in Fischeri and Personatus.
Roseicollis has parblue (*blue), which is not a true blue.

How did that happen?
Both parents would be split for this to happen.
