I realised too late yesterday that I had ran out of chop and did not have time to make up some more. I went to the supermarket to check out their salad mixes and found a really great "flower salad" which is a mixture of dark garden-variety lettuce and violets. Alongside that they also stock sprout mixes. So today's very healthy fresh chop is:
(btw I tried to translate from German, not sure on the names for everything)
Butterhead lettuce (green and red)
Romane lettuce (red/green)
Oakleaf lettuce (red and green)*
Violets
Sprouted mung beans, lentils and chickpeas
Hemp seeds
Linseed
Quinoa
*note that this is named for the shape of the leaves, and is a garden variety lettuce, not tree oak leaf which is toxic for your birds.
And I now have two happy campers!
