My yellows were $100 and 75. My blue was 60. Budgies, that's an okay price. I just think that's a lot for the p'let. Of course, it is tame.... the owner's point is that they are "giving a free cage and all the supplies" but if you have birds you've already got all the supplies.

In Australia I spent 350 for Picard and 250 for Neptune. Those prices in Florida seem very low.:huh: Maybe they like the weather there ? Breed easily?

I looked into getting wild coloration green parrotlets and they were 900 here. I still want green parrotlets someday :D

... TO BE CLEAR! All of my parrotlets and birds are ever special to me. My little guys are adorable blue gems, I just lust for some wild colouration :D:excited1:

I know how you feel @fashionfobie I love the normal greens and they’re really rare out here, everyone’s just breeding the mutations.
I think parrotlets have gotten the short stick with mutations too. They are a common species, but not as common as others say budgies, so the gene pool is a little smaller.. and then the mutations. I have heard of people losing birds from cancers when they were only 4 :(

There's more money to be made off mutations for the same amount of effort on the breeders part. :sad14:

Wow Parrotlets are just cheap in Florida! My mind is blown! @Beasley Guess you need to move to Florida !
As many as they have posted I'd be extremely leery of buying from them. Probably a very big operation that has to move birds at reasonable prices to keep the "inventory" down. Parrotlets can be non-stop breeders. I didn't look into the aviary to see what all they raised ( other than the kakariki's and lineolated)... but in some of the photos the bars on the cages are very questionable... as in poor condition or rusty. Probably an outdoor aviary.

I didn't follow the links, I just said it based on the chart of prices you posted. Poor little Parrotlets.

Here Forpus cost average 20-45 euros. Green cost the same as any others.

Then there are extremely misleading ads like this:

Simpático periquito papillero. . A 3 Tomás 15€, si lo quieres destetado 20€( te lo reservo). Si lo quieres mándame WhatsApp Pájaro periquito ninfa Forpus Agaporni rabadilla #NoPica #Papillero docil
I will translate for you, ¨Kind unweaned parakeet. Eats 3 formula feeds a day 15euros, if you want the bird weaned 20euros. If you want one send me a message. Bird parakeet cockatiel parrotlet lovebird rump #doesn´tbite #docileunweanedbaby¨
What a crock of rubbish. Also, I don´t know what the bird is, but it is not a lovebird or a cockatiel.
