I think Featherland cages has a playtop that can be used or switched with the dometop. Not sure if it would be compatible with other cages.
Yup, I have feather land cages and the tops can be switched in and out. Some other cage companies (like Avian Adventures) have playtop or dome top models, I'm willing to bet you can probably pay to have the additional top if you ask a retailer who has direct communication with the supply.

Actually something like this would be better - no head space lost, but I'm only finding it for small/med birds, and it's for my solid medium yellow collar and want to account for tail space. I want it to be accessible for larger birds too though, so this - but just slightly larger by even just a couple inches?
Oh, maybe a hanging gym above instead of connected!
