Do 2 females do well together?

We are planning to get a second linnie to add with our sweet girl Cece. I’ve been reading with mixed results on whether two females get on well. I realize some of it also depends on personality. The reason we want a girl is so we don’t end up with babies! But I also want to make sure two females would be ok together. I would love to hear of your female pairs and how they get on (or not). We don’t plan to add more and have just the two. Thanks!!

It's not very common for two females of most species of parrots to get along. There are no rules in captivity but the odds are low. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Some do, some don't. I've personally never had a problem with it, but I know people who have. My experience has been that males and females bond more strongly with one another than two females.
A male + a female does not automatically equal babies. You just have to keep an eye on them, remove anything that resembles a nest, and replace eggs with dummy eggs if need be. Two females can also lay eggs, they just won't be fertilized. If you're proactive you can ensure that all fertilized eggs in any case are removed.

I've had two mixed-sex pairs for years without fertilized eggs. I just never gave them a nest.

Thank you so much, Matto!
