Hello, my bird is disabled. I've been managing his pressure sores and bumblefoot for two years.

He is on meloxicam and gabapentin. His feet are washed daily, i use f10 barrier ointment. He has flat soft perches.

A couple of days ago there was a small brown dot but it vanished and now today there is this black part. It is smooth.

Does anyone know what this is? Isnit now progressed bumblefoot and do I need to go to the vet straight away. 7966.jpg

Called the vet and got an answer. Appointment tomorrow as he is behaving normally and it doesn't smell weird. But probably necrosis incase anyone else has this issue.

Poor little guy. I hope he feels better soon. So, the vet didn't think it was still bumblefoot?

Thanks! And it is definitely bumblefoot, it's just progressing to a more severe grade.

The vet I saw today said this hadn't progressed to necrosis yet though which is good. He is on antibiotics now just in case, then back in for an xray and bloods in a couple of weeks.
