Yes. His bloodwork is textbook normal. It's not always the cause and there is not a simple test but usually enough symptoms are there to have the vet push higher vitamin A foods.@Macawnutz
Were the lab readings normal on that bird? Just pulled more blood, and everything was normal and in range for him. But I wonder if perhaps there’s a therapeutic level threshold necessary for night frights?
Health wise flying would be best but I do not know the extent of the damage to his feathers. If the damage is so severe he can not fly correctly and gets hurt I can see the reasoning but ... most birds are smart enough to account for any handicaps if given the chance to learn. Would it be better to allow flight during the day and crate him for bed? I'm mean... he is sleeping so he shouldn't care.
Maybe you have some choices? I'm just jumping in as you had me hooked laughing at your descriptions.
