To explain the clipping—the other side’s wing feathers don’t grow at all so he’s unable to fly. The okay side grows long and makes him lopsided.
He got injured but no signs until the techs showed me

I'll admit I'm envious! I'd love to hire avian vet techs come to the house and do nails now and then!
I still have to get Little Scooter’s beak trim at the vet every five to six weeks! The techs used to do his beak but he started getting so stressed out I had to put him in oxygen after. So now the vet does his beak under reversible anesthesia and the whole darn thing costs &225.00! Usually he’s recovered during the drive home but this last time he twitched and the reversal shot didn’t go in so he took hours to recover.

Btw my vet is cat dog exotics so not an avian vet. She consults with an avian vet when needed which is not often.

My vet isn’t a CAV, either, but he’s good. It’s also a car, dog, and exotics place. My vet is one of a team that takes care of the zoo animals here.
That’s awesome! Your vet clinic has a lot of collective experience!

I think a mobile vet service sounds very useful & far less stressful for regular, non-emergency, vet visits.
The techs are able to swab for samples to culture. The vet also visited initially with the techs but her skills weren’t necessary for nails.
