Custard is not impressed

So today I took Custard for a health check at the vets, she hates the drive (it's not long but she gets car sick) and today to add insult to injury, she didn't have lunch AND we arrived early. She gets a clear bill of health and has her beak trimmed (despite her best efforts to hide in my hood). Alas as suspected she is a bit on the porky side (not by a lot so nothing to worry about but I don't want her getting any heavier) so she will no longer be getting the princess treatment lifts from her cage to wherever she pleases and if that doesn't help she will be going on a diet (she gets weighed monthly as it is). She was a very good girl though, she's been grouchy at home so I was a bit worried about how she would behave but she was an angel.
I have attached some photos of the ordeal. She ate a massive dinner so I think she's feeling better, although it takes a lot to get between her and food (starting to see how she got a bit chonky) and she did manage to poop on my coat so you know, small win for her

Anyway, thought I'd make a post as I'm sure Custard would want to complain to a bigger audience.

Unfortunately for her, I don't think she realises how very cute she looks when she's angry. Even if she's grumpy and goes to bite me, it's hard to feel intimidated but obviously I tell her she's terrifying and that I thought I was about to lose a body part to save her feelings.

Must be a yellow bird thing.

I had a yellow budgie named Isabeau - she was fearless and very strict with me.
I didn't care though, she was beautiful, adorable and a unique character.

Isabeau sounds like she was a lovely flock member the flock needs a strict one sometimes!

Her complaints have been passed to Bird HR representative Patches. Tell her to standby.... we're making a report now as we speak and will investigate this thoroughly.

Every year I threaten an Easter photoshoot with her because she's such a lil chickadee. Unfortunately, she absolutely hates anything else that's yellow - we cant decide if it's because she sees it as a threat or that she hates the colour and doesn't realise she herself, is indeed yellow . So trying to get her to not attack and throw anything yellow-spring themed is impossible.

Custard will be pleased to hear this. She has accepted some dandelion, but feels it is no where near enough compensation for the trauma experienced.
