Creosote cleaning powder in wood stove

Hi! We use a wood stove for heating and our chimney sweep has recommended adding a creosote cleaning powder into a fire occasionally to keep everything clear. When I used it before I brought my african grey to this new home, I didn't detect a smell. But I am hesitant to use it now that he is here. Anyone have any experience with this? (it doesn't have that chemical glow as a DuraLog or the like, which we never use) Thx

Is it a powdered version of the rock salt people use?

I thought that smoke was an issue for birds to begin with so I am not sure if even having wood heating is a good idea... idk

Pouring the powder directly into the live fire is no different than the fire itself. Everything goes up the chimney so if the the stove is operating and vented correctly there is no difference. Non issue where that is concerned IMO. No more dangerous than the stove itself (which still has risks).
