Hi everyone. I have 2 cockatiels one of them has all of a sudden gone crazy he masturbates all lot bites me and bites the othe bird. How long does this last. I have to put a sock on to get into the cage or he/she will attack me. By the way he/she is 16months old. The other one I have no idea how old he/she is. HELP

Hormones can last a couple months. How much sleep does he get? Tiels should have 10-12 hours a day of sleep/darkness. If he doesn't get there, I would do that first. If he already does, you can try increasing it by 2 hours for a couple weeks to see if that get his hormones a bit more back in check.

In addition to more darkness, make sure their are no areas your bird considers a nest, and separate the birds if needed.
