My crazy little boy passed away this weekend.

Saturday night, I found him sitting on the bottom of his cage, wings slightly out. When I picked him up, he didn’t seem to have 100% control of his body at first, but quickly snuggled into my neck. I thought he might’ve had a seizure and was telling the wife that I needed to take him to the vet when he suddenly seized again and that was it. He passed away in my hands. He was way too young to go - only 7 years old. It’s so hard to accept.

Thank you... Definitely having a hard time. We have both been crying since it happened, and I dropped the little one off to be cremated today. Then when I was ready to put Scoby away tonight, I was distracted and part of my brain forgot and I called for Craybie since he and Scoby would always come out together. He was supposed to be with us much longer. We’re struggling to come to grips with the fact that he’s gone.

It’s never easy to loose that what fills your heart but when they’re young I think it tends to hit a bit harder as it is certainly something you don’t expect to even consider experiencing for such a long time.
Hopefully time will make the pain less intense for you all.

I'm so sorry. Poor little one - and your family and flock. I'm glad he got that comfort snuggle and I hope he felt safe and loved. He'd come so far since he joined your home.

He had the roundest, most expressive eyes. It was so special watching his journey on AA while he became less fearful with all the love and time you gave him. It always feels too soon but you both deserved to share his full life together.
