Hi all, long time reader first time poster.. and this one is so so so very difficult to post.

I'm looking to rehome my Congo African Grey. We adopted her from the most gentle family during COVID and she's probably one of the most well-adjusted greys I've ever met. Super sweet, kind, funny, smart.. she LOVES exploring, shredding (oh no, my walls!) and learning. We do nightly cuddles and she snuggles up to me like a cat for head rubs. However, poor baby girl came from a family where she was the only bird, and I have lots of birds. A lot of conures. And I've recently come to terms that she's be injuring them, today one was severly injured and I witnessed it. She just doesn't know her own strength and even supervised I wasn't fast enough to stop it.

So, with the heaviest heart, I am looking to rehome her. I reached out first to her original owners but they are currently in a difficult health situation. Thus I'm on here, looking for the right person, who will give her the life she deserves. I prefer someone with fewer birds, a one-bird household is truly ideal, in the SF Bay Area. Someone who maybe can give me a yearly update to her health (which is what I did with the previous owners). Someone who has experience with these kind of parrots (I have multiple greys, shame they can't be friends lol). I will request a rehoming fee in good faith, but negotiable to the right family, and I think looking here will net me better, more honest results than on Craigslist, Facebook, etc. Please let me know if you might be interested in learning more. She's a wonderful bird, but maybe not for my household anymore... Happy to facetime, etc. She is around 24 years old but acts like a curious toddler. We love her so much, this is so, so difficult for us.

**Hugs** Unfortunately, I'm in Canada and have several birds. Hopefully, she'll find a good home. Rehoming is so hard on the heart :(

Thank you for the kind words! My conure is thriving and re-learning how to eat with just her bottom beak. She is still her feisty little self. We got so lucky it wasn't worse.

I'm so sorry. I took in my friends greybwhej she passed away and despite my efforts of improving his diet from 20 years of literal junk food, I did get him to be a foraging maniac but I lost him to atherosclerosis. I am a vet but nothing I could do to compete with the destruction of that on his heart. I so wish I could help you I would take her in a heartbeat. I just live in Denver. :(

Hi, were you able to find a home for her? I’m in Minnesota, but if she’s available, I’d love to chat!
