Hi guys!

I'm watching formula 1 with boyfriend in celebration of finishing the first of the 4 panels of the aviary/partition.

I'm going thave the frame on the outside and just wire on the inside to minimise chewing of the frame.

As much as I like woodworking, I'm nowhere near an expert and still need loads more practice. I am using stainless steel zip ties but I'm afraid they are going to be a little loose like this. Do you have any ideas on how I can attach the mesh to the frame?

Any comments / critiques / ideas welcome!

Your aviary is coming along Astrobirb! It is going to be massive one it is finished!

Nevermind the link, merely the first I found.
Surely this is available in any hardware store.

Those will both be too enticing for Astro to pick at from the inside. I'm afraid my choice of 3mm mesh was a bit of an overkill. Things would have been much easier with 2mm. :roflmao:

The last resort will be the sandwhich option..

This project is the biggest I've taken on so far!

Drill a tiny hole on each side of the bar big enough to get the zip tie through and tie the bars through the frame. Not around the frame. Clip on outside.

I've also done it that just using SS picture wire from Home Depot and twist tight (outside) but I'm cheap.

Actually picture wire should do just fine if I do it like you described. The main reason why I didn't want wire was because I though Astro would be able to spin it around and untwist it but if I put the wire through holes he won't be able to get to it, thank you for the great idea sir. Can't wait to get this project done.

This is my other option, maybe I can do both for more safety. I'm also going to need to find a secure way of attaching the panels to the wall, as they are quite heavy. I was thinking angles and stainless steel rope from the outside in case the angles come loose for some reason. The angles are going to be outside so if attached securely they should be fine but I have to make sure otherwise I won't feel comfortable putting him in it.
