I got to know through internet that coconut water is a hydrating treat for birds but only as long as the water is from a unripe coconut ( green or yellow in colour) , now I was wondering if I should give my budgie some water but from a ripened coconut (brown in colour) ?

It might be hard to figure out how much to give your bird without overdoing it. I wouldn’t do it myself, but it’s ultimately up to you.

I give small amounts (like 5mls or less) every now and then to my Macaw but with how small a budgie is and how little water their bodies need I would not be comfortable allowing my budgie to have any.

It is a natural source of electrolytes, is a diuretic and can have a laxative effect, I am not sure how much magnesium, sodium and potassium a budgies tiny body needs or can cope with so it is definitely something I would keep away from my little guy unless recommended by my vet.
