Woke up this morning to see my boy had vomited overnight. As of me posting this, I am currently waiting to contact the avian vet an hour away; conveniently their office closes from noon to 2pm for a staff meeting so I have to wait
This is the first time he's ever vomited and I did notice his poop changed to a green color (he is on a pellet and veggie diet with seeds as treats). It's still solid and the urates don't look strange so far. He's eating and drinking. Still making noise/speaking and such but I know well that birds hide illnesses. While I am waiting for the office to re-open, if anyone has any advice at all, I'd be grateful.
Things I changed or noticed in the past day:
Yesterday, I changed the set up of his cage area and moved his cage like 3 feet from where it used to be. I also swapped his storage out for something smaller and moved his levoit air purifier closer. The room for the most part besides his little square area with his cage is unchanged.
He was noticeably sleepier last night but I'm also not quite sure if that was because I had woken up earlier than usual or if the moving of things in the room had made him more tired.
--
He's currently preening on his playstand which ive placed in the sun for now to hopefully keep him warm. Should I attempt to spray him to get the little bits of vomit off his crest/wing? He has been due for a bath and I was actually going to give him a spray today but when I found out he threw up I thought it was best I don't.
Sorry for all the text. I am trying not to panic and stay calm for my boy but it hurts seeing him possibly in pain.
