This wasnt how I was hoping to introduce Oreo.

Something happned (I have no idea what) and Oreo got hurt. His toenail is crooked and barely attached to his toe anymore. I don't know when I'll be able to get to a vet.

Is he bleeding? Or has the bleeding stopped?

Possible things he could have injured himself on are chains, cage bars, toys, SS bowl rim etc

Edit; I just realised you have two new birds, are they housed together, could there have been a bit of a fight or toe nip?

The bleeding stoped

Nacho hasn't come home yet, he's very slow weaning.

I'm guessing it was a toy or the cage bars because he had ceramic bowls and I can't think of anything else in the cage.

Right now he's in his travel carrier so I can watch him.

That´s great the bleeding has stopped. Moving him to the travel cage was a good idea.
He will likely need pain meds, so I would try getting to the vet sooner rather than later. Also, he will need the nail looked at, hopefully he won´t lose it.

If your vet is closed or fully booked/can´t take emergecnies, you may have to look for another vet or emergency clinic.

How are you getting on contacting a vet? When can you be seen?
I've been looking at the lists and checked the one closest to me but I wouldn't be able to get in until tomorrow. I'm going to keep looking.

Hey Riley, how is Oreos toe doing? Did you see the vet, was everything ok?
Oreo’s toe is doing well, the dried blood came off and it looks so much better. We got into a vet and got him some pain meds which he takes very reluctantly :roflmao:

Here‘s a picture from 2 days ago, it looks pretty similar now
