Hi! I am hoping to get a cockatiel soon and have done tons of research on everything they need! I was just wondering one thing, since I do go to school, what would be a good time to wake up and put my bird to sleep? I leave at 6:45 in the morning and don't get back until 3 in the afternoon. Thank you!

I think I'd go from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. That way you could spend a little time with your cockatiel in the morning and most of your time with them in the afternoon. My understand is that parrots need at least 12 hours sleep. Keeping your cockatiel in a dark, quiet room away from busy places like a living room would be a good idea for sleep purposes too. Be sure to keep a night light in the room to prevent night frights.

It doesn't really matter as long as the tiel gets 12hrs of daylight and 12hrs of sleep. You just fit it in how you find it most convenient

Okay! I've heard that they need 12 hours of sleep as well, I just thought that 6pm was a little too early. Thank you for your help!
