Cockatiel skin condition under wing

Hi,

The skin under my tiels wing somehow peeled off, looks slightly yellow and aggrevates her whenever she is cleaning or opening her wing. I have taken her to the vet and paid a nice sum of money to be given the following which hasn't resolved the problem: painkiller and antibiotic which were given to her via pipet, antiseptic wipes (even though I have trained her to be calm on her back, this was not easy) and vitamins. The vet apparently hasn't seen anything like this before.

Her skin seemed to be getting slightly better after use of the medication however they are finished and she is still being bothered by this. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this sort of problem and what you did/think I can do to help her?

I have had her over 7 years and this is the first time she has had this problem.

Someone suggested aloe vera oil but I can't seem to get a hold of the oil easily where I live.

Thank you!

Poor baby...I hope you are able to get some relief for her. There is a product called HealX Soother...that might help...but I think it is discontinued now. Hopefully someone else has some ideas.

You need a different vet (second opinion). This vet is clueless.

You need to be very careful about putting "anything" on it without a proper diagnosis. Could actually aggravate the condition.

Yes she needs to be seen by another vet, looks like something from within her body, like a growth, does not look like a topical problem.

Thank you all for the feedback! I will try and find another vet for a second opinion in this case.
