Suddenly, at 5 years of age, my cockatiels (I have two, both female) are laying eggs. It MIGHT be just one of them laying eggs but unsure. There's been 3 eggs thus far starting middle of May.
Is there any way I can get it to stop?
They get a seed diet (no sunflower seeds) with added veggies such as corn, peas, sugar snaps, haricot verts and leafy greens.
As I live in Sweden, daylight is upwards of 19 hours in the summer but their room has blackout curtains. They pack in for the night at 9ish and I wake them at 8ish 9ish in the morning.
I moved a few months ago. I got a new aviary since the one I had was build specifically for the space and couldn't be moved. I left a very quiet suburb for a noisier downtown so was thinking environmental changes. Or perhaps their diet? I've tried converting to pellets before andI'm not trying that again.
