Cockatiel laid tiny egg

Shes starting to chew at her mineral block and making that mating sound. Time for another Lupron injection. I have an appointment a week from this coming Monday. Im extra paranoid now that my other girl died from the prolapse.

People may think im crazy about her chewing on mineral blocks when it time for an egg. I would bet the house on her and the mineral block.

A week from tomorrow. Im going to call tomorrow morning and see if theres any way they can squeeze me in earlier, even if i have to pay extra.

Oh I see my mistake now- you did say a week from this coming Monday. Hope all goes well between now and then and definitely hope the shot gives her a break.

I can only imagine, must be stressful. Keep the good foods up and of course the calcium supply and fingers crossed all will be fine till you see the vet.

Ive been giving her a calcium supplement every day since she was showing signs of the injection wearing off. Now that i know how long the injection lasts, (different for every bird) ill schedule the next appointment accordingly so i wont have to wait.

Ironically the vet had an opening at 4:00 today for bird emergencies. Technically not an emergency but it is to me.

Apparently i didnt mention in this thread that i had taken her back for a 3rd injection on 12/23/24 even though she hadnt laid an egg, i could tell the injection was wearing off.
A few days ago she started chewing on her mineral blocks. For those who have been following , you know what that means. Sure enough she laid an egg this evening. Here we go again.

Only 5 weeks for her. Some birds it may last months or even a year.
Its even more stressful now that my other girl died because of egg issues.
