cockatiel hates mirrors and keeps flying into things?

My un-tamed cockatiel escaped his cage and started screeching and shouting at a mirror- flying into it. I chased him for a bit and he kept flying into doors and walls. I’m worried

Some birds really dislike mirrors. They get territorial or over excited. He'll calm down, just give him time.

I would try not to chase your cockatiel to get him back in. If you do have to towel him, dim the lights to help keep him calm. Make sure any mirrors, windows, fish tanks, etc. are covered so he can’t injure himself. Put his cage near him and put his favorite food in it. Maybe if you just sit calmly and talk sweetly without looking at him, he might go back to his cage.
