Have you seen this? If anyone has doubts about the effectiveness of clicker training on parrots, this clip should melt them away!

I've seen it, and it's apsolutely mind blowing. He thought his birds quite well, and he has a blog on which he describes every method he uses.

Ah, but you have to be a *good* trainer to get these results! LOL!:) It is awesome though.

I would say, just a patient one, and one with LOTS of time on their hands!

No, it has a lot to do with when you treat and praise too...I have learned that the hard way. I'm a crummy trainer which is why it takes my birds twice as long to figure things out. There is a science to it.

I love that video. He is a great trainer.

Clicker training does take some talent. Unfortunately, some people are better at it than others. But is also takes practice. Over the years, I have become much better at it when training my dogs. I train my dogs for competition obedience/rally and agility and really love the results from clicker training.
I haven't really done formal training sessions with my birds. I did get my Hahns to dance and wave by him imitating me and then capturing the behavior. I have yet to try shaping with the birds.

He's got his own forum...theparrotforum.com and he's very active there.

I would probably agree with Leza, though I've not met him IRL...
