I just brought some F10 disinfectic and the warning label kind of freaked me out. I know there some F10 users on AA and was wondering how they use it. I got the concentrated kind. Daily or once a week? What kinds of thing is it safe to use on? Most importantly can I use it while the bird is still in the cage? Or is that a huge no-no? Thanks

The best thing about F-10 is you don't have to rinse it, you can use it while the bird is in the cage or where ever you are disinfecting. The proper dilutions are somewhere in the instructions, but heavy disinfecting is 1ml/250ml of water and general use/disinfecting is 1ml/500ml of water. Use it any time you think it is needed.

Mythic55 used it on everything in her house when her AG died of PBFD. Carpets, upholstery, clothes, furniture, drapes everything. Nothing was harmed.

The warnings are because they started selling in the most litigious country in the world and that's what their lawyers demanded .

I know of one person who took a bath in it to get rid of the stuff her kid brought home from school - LOL

I keep a premixed spray bottle ever at the ready for every day cleaning. The birds are let out while I clean cages. I spray it on paper towels for wiping the bars and toys and things. If there is poo on the perches, then I spray the perch directly and let it soak a few minutes while I do the rest of the cage. Wipe it all down and let it dry. Toys and other items get soaked in a bowl if they are really soiled.

If it is heavy duty, really scrub the cage, I mix it all in a large bucket and really drench the entire cage and scrub, leave it all to dry outside.

I've have used it directly on a bird without an issue.

I put it in my carpet cleaner, a few drops in my humidifier, add it to laundry loads. :D I love it. I also have no fear to say that I was the one who bathed in it. :shy:

Hi all can anyone please post a picture off the actual product. I just googled it and surprise surprise we do have it in South Africa. Usually I'm never able to find anything that you guys recommend. Problem is there's so many F10 products I don't know which to get.

You know I have two of those right? One is in the garage. ;) I'll have Joe get it down for you, you can just pick it up. :)

I only use it about once a month myself because I think there is such a thing as TOO clean unless there is a reason to be so cautious. Never had any problems though :) I've seen it used as a breathing treatment for some birds, also!

Yes, I use it in my nebulizer for Kari when she has sinus issues and also spray for yeast on the skin of my plucker Giggie. Both recommended by the vet.

I think I use it more since I have mammals, reptiles, invertebrates, and avians in the same house
I use it a lot, I'll admit. Probably more than I need to but better safe than sorry.

I've taken a shower and washed my clothes (including shoes) with it before... coming back from someone's home. I will not describe how itchy I was or the environment in which I felt the risk of an allergic reaction was preferable to just a shower with water.

No shame in the F10 game :2cents:
Best of all, it doesn't stain clothes like bleach or other similar chemicals.

hi. I just want to make sure. Can the birds be in the same room as where I am wiping down the cages? I dont want to to breath in the F10 and get sick
