I am trying to build a cage for our two new cavies. Right now they are living in a 20 gallon long aquarium, which is not the best situation. It is only temporary. I just got the walls of the cage assembled today. I am using the "OrganizeIt" blocks from Target.

When I put the cavies into the cage to test it, the smallest got her head stuck in the SMALL barred section. There is one section of larger bars and I think she could get all the way through that. I think the bars will be fine at adult size, but they are older babies now, and can get stuck. What can I do in the mean time to keep the cavies in the new cage without getting their heads stuck?

I used this site to model my cage:

You could temporarily cover the bars with aluminum window screen. Comes in rolls at the hardware store.
