I was just wondering if cat grass is safe for birds to eat? :) I found a cool little cat grass growing kit and thought the birds would like it.

Wish I could help but I've never heard of it. Maybe someone else has...

They used to sell "cat/pet" grass at PetSmart. I would say as long as it is grass and not catnip, you are good to go. :)

The one I have just calls it "Pet grass" and it's safe for all types of pets. Check to see what seeds it has, if it's just wheat grass you should be good.

I was wondering the same thing too. I see those kits all the time at Petsmart.

If you have a PetCo, they care the all pet version of it. That's where I always go. The brand is Pet Greens

I'll open it later and see if it says what the seeds are. On the front it says it contains "catgrass seeds".

I'd imagine it's fine. One person I know buys the live wheatgrass at the grocer and gives that to her fids.

Nothing inside the packet is any more helpful, it's still just called "cat grass". I've planted it, and we'll see how it grows. On the packet it looks very much like wheat grass. :p

That is what the cat grass here is, it is wheat grass, and my fids LOVE it, hehe!
