You aren't far off the mark. I think that because having no feathers doesn't stop him from preening himself, he INSISTS on preening my non-existent feathers too. He is especially fond of preening the inside of my upper arm. I'm wondering if the texture of that skin is close to his own skin. Bless his heart.
