I've had my baby GCC Leo (about 3 months old) for around a week and half. He's adjusting really nicely to living in his new home, I worry about every little thing though! Is it ok that he loves chewing on his mineral block? Can too many minerals be bad for him? It's one I got from petco. (You & Me Strawberry Mineral Bird Cake | Petco Thanks!!

It doesn't mention what kind of minerals it provides except calcium. Depending on what all is in there and what else the diet consists of, then theoretically, yes you can overdose. Calcium, for instance, can cause kidney issues in high amounts.

Have you had your bird to avian vet for a wellness check? That way you may know the baseline levels if blood was drawn. Maybe this bird is deficient in the minerals and needs them. There is not way to tell unless you talk to your vet about running labs for the mineral levels like calcium.
