Can small birds eat regular bean sprouts?

i have a barred parakeet, he is small and is called kiko. I am wanting to start sprouting seeds for him, and was wondering if i could include regular bean sprouts in the sprouting mix. I could not find much info online and just wanted to make sure.

Depending on the beans, yes! There are several that are safe, but others that should be avoided. Mung, adzuki, lentils, peas, and garbanzo are considered safe to eat sprouted. A lot of other beans need to be cooked well (even if sprouted!) as they have a toxin when raw or dried.

thanks! about his name, it comes from a caracter in El Chavo, or Chaves as its called in Brazil where i live, called Quico, so i just switched some letters around and boom! kiko!

I knew it!!! I absolutely love that show, it never get old. It's the only thing I can watch repeated forever
