Can cockatiels get bronchitis or the flu?

Bronchitis is going around my house right now and I don't want to risk my baby getting sick too (hes 7 months old). I know that birds can have respiratory issues. Bubba already has a vitamin deficiency which can cause respiratory problems (which is fixed by incorporating pellets into his diet) but I wasn't sure if they can get bronchitis or not. As of right now he's being his usual, very loud, self so no need to worry yet.

There aren't many diseases that cross species. Avian flu is one of the few which is why it is a huge concern for many. I would not worry about other diseases you or your family get being passed to your birds or other pets.
