Im in LA, California. The grass in the picture is about one foot long.It is a type of grass.

It looks like what I have is tall fescue. And that article u posted says that its toxic to almost every animal that eats it. I guess I have my answer now and I wont be givin any of it to my birds.There is an article about fescue here:

I am not sure if the grass pictured is fescue, but it looks similar to tall fescue both at the seed heads and the stem.
