Caique or rainbow lorikeet

Hello. I am wanting to ask a question
I would like to buy parrot but ı can't decide
I live in istanbul and parrots are very expensive.
1-Lorikeet-358,33 USD
2-Caique-716,66 USD

1-Which parrot is smarter and more naughty? (rainbow lorikeet or Caique)
2-What are the differences between Caique and rainbow lorikeet ?

Welcome to the forum. I have never owned either. I think both are beautiful. However, lorikeets have very, very messy droppings. For that reason alone, I would pick a caique.

Good idea to mention the droppings! Lories drink nectar..so yes, their droppings will be very messy. I can only speak about caiques (though I've heard that caiques are the lories of South America!), very smart and very naughty!! Both species are high energy. Need to learn their body language. They are awesome birds!

ferhat, actually its more expensive in Florida than Istanbul Turkiye. I was checking out the prices last night and I saw Average caique is 1000$. lorikeets are about the same. I know it’s a lot when you convert. I assume 5600 lira caique, and 3000lira lory. They also need a veryyyy big cage with loooots of toys. My husband had a lory and he loved her. Their personalitise are very similar except the poop lory poops like a diarrhe. I suggest watch some videos and also how much time are you willing to put ? They require looooooots of time. one of the most important question is neden caique yada lory istiyosun? Diger kus cesitlerini Dusundun mu?
