Cage setup advice?

Hello! Is this cage setup okay for a young GCC? I'm getting my birb this weekend and I would like some reassurance/feedback on my setup for his cage! This is not the only area with toys (I have a whole other play area set up), so this is not going to be the only toys he gets. Would this setup be okay, excessive, or too barren?

(I also posted this in the conure section of this forum, so lmk if posting this in two places is a bit too spammy or annoying)

Natural branch-type perches are preferrable to dowel perches. You’ll also want to try to arrange the cage in a way so that no perches are directly above another (greenies poop a LOT and otherwise cleanup is a nightmare).

He likely won’t use the bottom half of the cage, so it’s okay to remove those perches towards the bottom.

It’s also preferable to keep toys towards the side of the cage so that there’s more open space for flying.

In my experience, young greenies love balsa and sola, as they’re both easy to destroy. I would highly recommend getting or making some toys with those materials! You can tell if a wood is balsa by pressing into it with your finger nail — balsa is a very soft wood and your nail should leave a dent. Sola almost feels like styrofoam.

Also, I only see one bowl in the cage. Am I missing the other one, or will you be using a bottle for his water? If you’re using a bottle with a spout, make sure it’s primed and he actually knows how to drink from it. Though personally I prefer water dishes, especially since many greenies love to take baths in them

It sounds like you’re doing a great job though, wishing you luck with your new birdy! :)

The perches made of dowel came with the cage so while they're in there, for now, I'll be replacing them as I find better ones. I got him a lil destroy-toy specifically made for parrots out of some super fibrous, shreddy wood, so I hope that will be something he likes!

The tips on toy and perch placement are super handy, thank you! I'll go shuffle things around asap.

The breeder specifically said her birds are bottle-trained, so I'll be using the bottle for at least the first few months, but otherwise I have plenty of large cat bowls I cleaned to make baths with! I just haven't put those in yet oops.
