A cat got to my 15 year old sun conure.
Vet says a fractured wing at the wrist and a broken leg at the knee joint that can’t be stabilized. Is there any suggestions to set up a cage that would promote healing the best? Dr says a “False Knee Joint” May form? Dr says no climbing cage bars more than 2” so we’re in a open tote w recessed food & water for now. We’re 4 days post injury.
Does anyone have any ideas besides TLC, prayers & cold laser treatments?

Did you get antibiotics and pain meds for the cat attack? I'm sorry he got hurt, both injuries could be stabilized, but that's 6 weeks in wraps and casts. The tote is good, no way to climb..your setup sounds good, whether he likes it or not.. keep an eye on him, make sure hes eating and drinking.

I agree with ^. Keep him in a tote or he will climb. I would ask about getting it stabilized otherwise it could easily re-break while healing. Tramadol is good stuff in these situations.
