It can be fed either way, but steamed is probably easier for a lovebird to eat.

I feed it both ways, but probably feed it raw more often than cooked

I’ve had some very mild luck with it being warm. I ended up roasting it in the oven for just a little bit just to soften it and heat it up and everybody had at least a few nibbles.

My caiques don't like butternut squash steamed. (It is soooo yummy to me!) I don't have it often enough to experiment....maybe if I try to mix it in raw with their carrots they'll accept it better?

Roasted here. I sure love it roasted! For dinner for me it will be roasted butternut squash, skillet chicken and other veg , over rice and topped with blue berries, pretty sure the birdies will get some of my dinner to:heart:

Your birdies will probably love it soon , it is so hard when it's first time they have seen.

Today I really fooled around and gave them one thing at a time , because I wanted to see and be sure they ate each type of veggies.( they did :). ) Sometimes they start just eating favorites. Tomorrow I will just offer everything together

Yep I’ve noticed remi eats his favourite first and starting to notice pip seems to only eat out of his foraging toy then goes to bowl when that’s empty so he’s got pellets in his foraging cubes and only one draw of seeds at bottom which he finds hard to open lol

Sometimes, I roast root vegetables like squash or sweet potatoes. I toss them in coconut oil, sometimes spices, and serve warm. Pretty popular with the whole flock, which I can't say about most things. Even the hy will eat roasted squash.
