Hi all,
Our two year old eclectus parrot unexpectedly flew and landed on a burner on the stove that had been turned off, but was still pretty hot. I felt the burner myself aafterwards and it was pretty darn hot. She let out a yelp when she landed. My wife and I have looked at the bottom of her claws, and we do not see any signs of injury, although she was tapping her left claw for a little bit. She seems normal sitting on my wife. She is eating. she is not making any unusual sounds. This happened 10 minutes ago and I cannot see any signs of distress in her. She does not appear uncomforable on her claws, nor favoring one over the other anymore.
I will closely monitor her claws over the next 24 hours. If there is a sign of injury in the morning, I will take her to our avian vet.
Should I put her claws in cold water?
Any advice?
Thanks to all.
Jeb
