Bunnies and Birds?

Hi! I usually just lurk here, so this is my first post!

I have two budgies and a cockatiel, and will soon be getting the cockatiel a friend (I worry he gets lonely while my partner and I are at work!).

We are moving to a bigger apartment soon and have been thinking of maybe getting bunnies (for me) and a hamster (for my partner). I initially thought about getting rats but I've read a few scary things about rats with birds.

Does anyone have any insight on how a bunny/bunnies do with birds? I doubt the cockatiel will really interact with the bunnies, he is scared of everything and a clingy baby who wants to be on someone all the time (even too clingy sometimes, we're hoping a friend will help that a little). The budgies are a little crazier and love flying around and exploring, but there is never any unsupervised out-of-cage time and there definitely wouldn't be with a bun around.

Right now, our birds spend all day in big cages or hanging out with us in our living room and go into sleeping cages in the bedroom that get covered at night. My tentative plan is that the bunnies would stay in the bedroom predominantly, to limit interactions? And I'd make sure to hang out in both areas to give everyone some interaction.

Does anyone have any insight on this, about bunnies, rats, etc? I'd appreciate it, thanks! :)

My buns have always been fine with my budgies. I’d not keep either in a bedroom, though. Hay is dusty. Birds are dusty. I encourage you to take care of your lungs.

I used to have bunnies, they are really chill and probably won’t get into trouble with your birds. Bunnies are really just there, just make sure you Have an eye on them.
