Just sat down with my dinner after getting home about half an hour ago to update.

LJ was an absolute champion. He came home quite thirsty so I suppose he was too nervous to drink while there, but behaved very well. He waited patiently at the vet since 9:30 to be finally "seen" at about 7:30. The vet clinic was pure chaos today (SUPER busy). He has been given two medications, one for pain and inflammation the other for bacterial infection (I think) and we're planning to have a recheck Tuesday next week :)
He is very happy to be home with Sunbeam and she is too.
So happy to hear. At least he has something treatable with medication. Here's hoping the next week goes well.

Visit went well. He had developed a white lump on his leg that was pus the vet cleaned out. A positive was that she said his poos are looking better than they did last week. He's to continue his meds for the next 3-4 weeks, at this point he doesn't have another appointment but if I notice anything I will be contacting them. Sorry if this sounds abrupt and non-descriptive, I am really tired and need to go to bed.
Thanks for taking the time to keep us posted.

Can anyone else notice the subtle difference between Light and Dark Green budgie tail feathers?? There's two dark green and one normal.

Is the middle feather odd one out ?
Yep. Well, I didn't actually keep track of them but was having a closer look and noticed the difference. The fact it's not a beat up baby feather like the others also makes it clearer who's is who's

Finished the first day of my big deep clean. Also swapped the Veggies with Obsidian and Em, the younger ones are far more active and there's more of them so it seemed fair to swap their cages.
(Filling up the cages with toys/leaves is tomorrow's job, that is why it's empty :) )

I took this photo cause I thought it was crazy. To my knowledge this cage is not a "travel cage", but that is the ONLY thing I use it for because that's the only thing it's suitable for. I put them in there while I took the cages outside to scrub down. The thought of a bird being in there for more than a few hours creeps me out :sour:

Gorgeous budgies

I hate seeing cages like this in pet shops

One of these days the local pet shop is going to kick me out for telling their clients not to buy the "budgie" cages.
But maybe they won;t as I suggest the "cockatiel" cages are much more suitable.
No bird who is not free flying daily should live in one of those. I use them for transport cages, with a towel over them, uncovered they can make a bird who is not at home feel vulnerable to overhead attack. So no problem when cage cleaning at home.
That's a particularly nice looking pair of blues Aussie.

Happy Gotcha day #5 to Miss Emelia :xflove:
I'm exhausted right now so I'll get some pictures to share a bit later.
It would also be Winston's gotcha day and man, I still miss him so much :sad11:
My budgie flock has changed so much in just 5 years.
