Good morning all, I’m new to this site and would like some advice please. I inherited a couple of budgies from my partners father who sadly died. They’re both going through malt atm, but I’m concerned that 1 of them is very itchy and rubbing hie beak to the point it’s bleeding. I’m concerned it may be from the millet spray. Could it be mites from the millet? Thanks karen.

I haven't heard of birds getting mites from good millet. If these were my birds, I would take them to the vet.

However, sometimes birds just get really bad molts, I know my budgie roughed himself up pretty good a few times, from rubbing his face on stuff too much.

I don't think they would get mites from millet. I too would take them to the vet.
